We had the opportunity to restore a museum-quality, 345-395 million years-old, cephalopod-nautili specimen from the Atlas Mountain Range, South Morocco. During transportation from North Africa to a Los Angeles designer, the 150 lb. fossil-stone broke into more than 20 pieces. We were sourced to put the specimen back together with a guarantee against breakage for one year. Repairs involved rodding to address structural integrity issues, and refinishing and polishing to blend chips and fractures with the surrounding stone.
