PALEY Stone & Tile Forensics provides expert stone and tile assessment and consulting, testing, and training for residential and commercial installations and applications. Our services range from assessing installation failures to providing expert witness testimony to environmental suitability studies to restoring museum pieces.
Our clients include commercial centers, hotels/resorts, government buildings, insurance companies, home builders, property managers, tile contractors, interior designers, architects, homeowners, building engineers, and attorneys.
PALEY’s companies have performed more than 35,000 commercial, residential, and specialty ceramic, clay, concrete, and natural stone maintenance, restoration, and repair projects in the last 25 years. Also, he has served as a National Trainer for the Natural Stone Institute, having conducted more than 250 classes for architects, contractors, designers, installers, and suppliers. PALEY acted as Chairman of the Marble Institute of America’s Diagnostics committee for the Dimension Stone Design Manual, Version VIII, 2016, and authored the procedures for properly assessing and diagnosing material and installation failure issues. PALEY is a nationally certified Historical Preservationist, having worked on registered Historical Sites, such as Shimer College, Illinois (1876), the Old Santa Ana Courthouse (1901), and Millard Sheet’s Union Bank and Sidney Eisenshtat’s Palm Wilshire Building, Beverly Hills (1950’s). Finally, PALEY performs ASTM 2659-10 (Re-approved 2015) moisture condition tests in accordance with industry guidelines and standards, as he is a twice-certified Moisture Testing Technician – Tier I by the International Concrete Repair Institute (2014, 2019).
