Granite Testing, Palos Verdes

The granite in this home was specified by an architect and approved by the homeowner, but without being tested for environmental suitability.  Even though the stone behaved without issue in a drier climate, it began to discolor and degrade due to its proximity to the Pacific and exposure to salt-air.  Various cleaning techniques only temporarily solved the staining; over time, more aggressive treatments and repairs will be needed.
